Pouring oil into the flames

It appears we have to ask ourselves who stands to gain from the voices that are systematically trying to push Greek society over the cliff.

It is extremely provocative to see politicians, pundits and the media trying to pour oil onto the flames with the aim of instigating tension, violence and chaos.

These people will not hesitate, it seems, to exploit everything, from the tragic suicide of a fellow citizen to the supposed speculation about postponing the general elections scheduled for May 6.

The vast majority of the population has shown remarkable restraint and maturity despite the suffering of the past couple of years that has resulted from the government?s austerity measures, as it has toward the failings of Greece?s embarassing political establishment.

However, we mustn?t allow ourselves to get carried away by the extremist elements and media which seem to have bet their money on chaos and catastrophe.
