Let the cream rise to the top

The Greek people have great expectations regarding the new government, feelings which are shared by the country?s partners. At this point in time we all have to rise to the occasion.

The political leaders who will be lending their support to this emerging governing body will have to do so wholeheartedly and without the kind of hesitation observed during the tenure of the interim government headed by Lucas Papademos.

It is also crucial that they employ the creme de la creme of what is available in their ranks in order to staff the public sector?s administration and the government.

These are not what you would define as business-as-usual times. While we certainly need the best of what the country has to offer in key positions, we certainly don?t need any cunning, partisan tactics.

For example, anyone operating in the belief that the new government?s failure will benefit his or her political ambition at a later date will be committing a crime against the country?s interests.
