Public needs the truth

Both the current administration and the parties lending their support to the government ought to make time to explain to the public why they believe it is absolutely vital for them to vote in favor of the implementation of the cuts and the reforms they are promoting.

At the same time they need to clarify how much of what is said and written in the media on a daily basis is true, as it is generating confusion, even panic, among citizens.

So far we have witnessed a sort of ?reformology? based on rumors accompanied by the populist statements that are being spouted by all those who oppose the proposed measures and reforms.

The time will come, however, when all the facts and dilemmas will have to be presented to the Greek people in a responsible and methodical manner.

The coming weeks will no doubt prove crucial in terms of the country?s future. This is why political leaders should never leave the act of communicating with the people to chance, especially during such pivotal times.
