Believing in ourselves
Tuesday’s upgrade of Greece’s credit rating to B- by Standard & Poor’s came as very welcome news. It indicates that an increasing number of international analysts believe the risk of Greece being ousted from the eurozone has diminished and that the other members of the currency bloc are prepared to really help the country.
Now it is time for Greece itself to start believing that it will be able to emerge from the crisis and return to growth. Unfortunately, there are those who insist on propagating scaremongering scenarios that feed the climate of instability.
It is crucial for Greece to regain its morale, to feel a boost of confidence despite the enormous problems that lie ahead and the serious trials being suffered by many in the country. The international community is beginning to see a potential for change in Greece and is being guardedly optimistic about its prospects. If foreigners can do it, then so should we, because psychology is half the battle.
