Invisible hand creeps back

All sides will need to be extremely cautious over the next few months to make sure that this country remains on track and that it does not slide into ugly infighting.

Every time Greece manages to restore some degree of stability and shake off the threat of a euro exit, we automatically witness the resurfacing of an invisible hand pushing the nation toward the precipice.

The key priority at the moment is to stabilize the country, contain unemployment and curb the recession. Meanwhile, there seems to be simply too much tension in Parliament and on television panels. Also, the threat of domestic terror calls for greater unity.

Judicial probes into cases that affect the public interest require a cool-headed approach, not pompous sound-bites. We need calm and stability. As long as we create the impression of a country locked in an endless crisis and unchecked tension, the economy will never recover, driving all investors away.
