A returning sense of safety

The leadership and staff of the country’s police deserve congratulations as despite the salary cuts and the serious shortages they must face in terms of equipment and numbers, they continue to perform their duties with dedication and professionalism.

Their most recent victories include solving an armed robbery and apprehending the suspects, who are linked to an urban guerrilla group. In recent months they have also succeeded in solving a number of heinous crimes, and have also done a very good job of curbing illegal immigration.

These successes have created a much-needed sense of safety among the citizens of this country. Greeks no longer feel that there is such a big void in the implementation of the law and the imposition of order.

Beyond the many reasons for this sense of security being important, there is also the fact that it helps people realize we don’t need gun-toting deputies and thugs to impose the law.
