No spanners in the works

This summer is expected to be one of the best-ever seasons in terms of tourism arrivals and revenues.

In practical terms, this translates into jobs for thousands of Greeks, an increase in public sector revenues and the market having a new breath of life breathed into it.

It would be completely disastrous if industrial action and protests organized in view of the recent multi-bill submitted to Parliament endangered the rest of the tourist season.

While demonstrations and protests have to be respected, the same does not apply to violence, blocking the historical city center of Athens and other actions that could provide international media with a fresh opportunity to discredit Greece as a tourist destination.

It is in our best interest that the rest of the season proceeds smoothly. Any other outcome would be suicidal and needs to be prevented.

Everyone needs to jump in to make sure that the country does not suffer any more harm.
