Calls for consensus

It’s about time political parties that espouse democracy finally show the Greek people that they fully understand their anger and are prepared to actually do something about it.

Nothing enrages local society more than the constitutional and legislative regulations regarding the issue of ministerial responsibility, which have created double standards between citizens and politicians.

Imagine what a powerful message both the coalition government and the opposition party could send across the country if they were to unanimously agree on revising the constitution’s regulation regarding this matter, a move that would effectively lead to changes in the next Parliament.

Citizens would like to see some kind of consensus from their politicians on major issues as well as initiatives demonstrating that those in power understand their outrage.

If parties continue pecking away at each other from opposite sides of the issues they will lead voters to even more extreme and violent choices. So why not take the plunge and agree on something substantial right now?
