Holding on to investors

Foreign investors are showing a remarkable and growing interest in Greece, according to government officials and other, private parties, who are in frequent contact with them.

There is no denying that the Greek economy has hit rock bottom, but experts and analysts who are keeping a close eye on developments here firmly believe that barring some unexpected and dramatic event, the risk of Greece exiting the euro area is definitely behind us.

Foreign investors see unique comparative advantages in the Greek economy and they are confident that after a long recession and a brutal fiscal adjustment it will be able to stand on its own two feet again.

International investors are looking for safe places in which to put their money amid growing instability and fears of unrest in many parts of the world, some of them close to Greece.

Greece should not allow this opportunity to pass it by and the first thing it needs to do is ensure political stability and firm governance.
