Threat to the nation

Greece has been struggling for the past few years to become a regular developed nation but there are those who appear determined not to let this happen.

At a time when the country is beginning to regain some of its lost international credibility and the economy is getting back on track, certain backward-thinking people are trying to push it over the cliff by using terrorism as their weapon.

Citizens and politicians need to start taking this phenomenon much more seriously. Chronic problems in the justice and penal systems, as well as in security and public order services, also need to be dealt with.

For democracy to function it needs to be armored against paranoid violence, wherever it comes from.

If this doesn’t happen soon there will be a high price to pay and it may also put Greece’s return to normalcy in jeopardy.
