Go boldly, with prudence
The meeting of European Union finance ministers – collectively known as the Eurogroup – in Brussels Wednesday is very important for the future of Greece, as well as that of the continent.
Athens should push for a better deal with its international creditors. To be sure, negotiating a better deal will not be an easy task.
On the contrary, it is very likely that we will experience something of a roller-coaster ride before a final agreement is reached. During that time, all parties involved will be called upon to demonstrate a great deal of determination as well as prudence.
It would be a grave mistake to allow ourselves to make irreversible moves that would cut Greece out of the eurozone. Such an outcome would be extremely damaging for both the country and the EU.
