Confusion and anxiety
People in Greece have good reason to be utterly confused and increasingly anxious about where the new SYRIZA-led government is heading with everything that it has been doing since being elected in late January.
The majority of people need to read foreign media or watch foreign-language news stations in order to get some kind of understanding of what is going on. Every day they are subjected to the tragic comedy of ministers contradicting the statements of other ministers or the government spokesman coming out to correct something that some other government official said.
The government appears not to have a clue about what it intends to do or to have enough respect for the country’s citizens to try to help them understand what is going on. It is behaving more like an assembly of rowdy students than a composed administration.
