NORTHERN BORDERS: New York, 21 (From our correspondent A.A. Antonakakis) – The UN peace mission monitoring the situation on Greece’s northern borders, and which is continuing the work of the UN’s Balkan Committee, now dissolved, has decided to reduce the number of observers in Greece from six to three as of next year, following the improvement in the situation along Greece’s borders. The decision was reached following a letter from the Greek permanent representative at the UN, Mr Kyrou, to the committee which, based on instructions from the Greek government, briefed the mission on the improvement in relations between Greece and Bulgaria and the expected improvement in relations with Albania. It also reported the view of the Greek government that its services might become completely unnecessary before the end of 1954. CHRISTMAS GIFTS: As of yesterday, street vendors selling Christmas gifts have set up their stalls in Aeolou Street. TROLLEY BUS: Yesterday, a number of trolley buses made successful trial runs along Patission and Vassilissis Sofias avenues.
