Caution on Turkey
Turkey is entering a period of serious instability and history has taught us that when that is the case, it can take a toll on relations between Athens and Ankara.
There are already signs that Turkey is upping the ante in the Aegean Sea by trying to provoke a reaction from Greece. But the only way to ensure that things don’t spiral out of control is to keep the lines of communication open.
So far, the Greek government has shown a lot of self-restraint and has not done anything to create a difficult situation. For this it should have the full support of the opposition.
