Disguised hawks

It has become abundantly clear over the past few days that there are those among the government’s top officials who had been planning for and anticipating a Greek exit from the eurozone since they were elected to power.

Today, they are accusing Alexis Tsipras of turning his back on his party because he respected the mandate that was given to him by the Greek people and because he upheld the vows he took when he was sworn in as prime minister of the country over five months ago.

The big question that begs an answer is why these officials did not speak up and make their intentions clear during the general elections in January or at least before last Sunday’s referendum.

What or who exactly gave them the right to feel entitled to process and promote any scenario that foresees a return to the drachma or a period with a dual currency?

We need answers to the above, if only so that the truth can go down in the annals of history.
