A PLAN: The Education Ministry’s school books department (Minister Constantine Kallios) has written to the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Istanbul asking for the original texts of the Holy Bible (both the Old and New Testaments) in order to publish them for the Organization of School Books and halt the sale of distorted texts used as various kinds of propaganda. At the same time, the ministry has set up a committee to study and collect material from the writings of the ancients for a publication of ancient texts of all the Greek, Byzantine and Latin writers. TZAMALAS KAROUSOS: The long-awaited recital of works by Shakespeare by the famous theater star Tzamalas Karousos is to take place on Wednesday, January 20 at 5.30 p.m at the Mousouri Theater. Mr Karousos will perform scenes from «The Merchant of Venice,» «Othello» and «Macbeth.» Appearing with Mr Karousos will be the actresses Eleni Zafeiriou and Zoe Skourla as well as the actors Nikos Tzoyias and Yiannis Argyris. Mr Vassilis Rotas will introduce the performance.
