STATE SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDIES ABROAD: The executive committee of the State Scholarship Foundation, during its session of January 15, has approved the results of scholarship examinations for study abroad in the following sectors: General Education (…) Primary school inspectors of basic education: Nikolaos Petroulakis [Ed. note: the father of Andreas Petroulakis, a cartoonist currently at Kathimerini]… Sciences: trauma surgery: Alexandros Zaousis. (…) Economic Sciences: economic analysis Dimitris Halikias (…), sociology, M. Rafail, Georgios Kavvadias. Fine Arts: painting Constantinos Grammatopoulos, Ioannis Migadis, sculpture Gavriella Simois, music and composition Michail (Mikis) Theodorakis. KOLOKOTRONIS: A decision has finally been reached to erect the statue of Theodoros Kolokotronis in the forecourt of the Old Parliament building, that is if there is no change of plan in the meantime. CACOYANNIS: During the first week of screening of that lovely film by Michalis Cacoyannis, «Sunday Awakening,» 61,835 tickets were sold.
