Power of the whirlwind
The country appears to be on the brink of a social explosion. Clearly what the Greeks find enraging, above all, is not so much the actual measures being implemented by the government but its broken promises.
People will not tolerate any more lies or another crisis. Only idiots and those indifferent to the nation’s interest could be content with the way things are going: the country facing chaos due to the refugee crisis, rising social tension and the danger of failed negotiations with creditors.
True, the people wanted the wind of change and are now instead getting a whirlwind. And whirlwinds sweep everything in their wake; they have no ideological or party colors.
The government and the opposition will have to put pride and hard feelings aside for the country’s sake. Otherwise, the powers wishing Greece out of Europe could grow stronger. And they are ready to take advantage of the despair felt by exhausted Greeks.
