The tools to get the job done
Prosecutors responsible for investigating financial crimes have long been calling for the law that would provide some protection to people who declare assets and revenues that have not been taxed or are kept in secret bank accounts.
The prosecutors believe that such a measure would allow them to recover millions of euros fast and effectively by threatening to use the different lists of depositors with accounts at foreign banks and other means they have at their disposal.
The law has been announced several times but has not appeared even in draft form. Isn’t it about time that it did?
