A credible alternative

There is no reason for the country’s main opposition to be in any hurry to take power.

Greece’s recent history proves that haste is one quality which is certainly not beneficial to Greek politicians.

The SYRIZA-Independent Greeks coalition administration is taking on the hefty political cost of painful decisions, some of which were necessary as a result of past sins.

Meanwhile, the main opposition’s leadership is currently preparing itself and in doing so is keeping away from big words and fake promises.

There is no doubt that this is the best possible strategy for the time being and one that it should carry on practicing.

Political time during the bailout era is so much more dense and fast-moving than in the days before the crisis.

The country faces several dead ends and Greece now has a credible alternative for government. And this is the most important aspect as the country appears to be moving away from the danger zone.
