KARAMANLIS-PUBLIC WORKS: Larissa, 1 – Yesterday afternoon the foundation stone of the new national highway from Larissa to Tempe, Katerini and Thessaloniki was laid. Present were the minister for public works, Mr Constantine Karamanlis, and the parliamentary speaker, Mr Rodopoulos (…). The new road will be asphalted, 220 kilometers (136.6 miles) long and 7.5 meters wide. The army are to help build it. (…) Mr Karamanlis referred to the Papagos government’s ambitious program «and the execution of major production and roadworks which will make the Greek people prosperous» and called for the people’s undivided support and help. ADAMANTIOS LEMOS: A new contract has been signed by the theater company of Mr Adamantios Lemos and the Piraeus Association for a continuation of Mr Lemos’s performances at the association’s hall until May 15. TSITSANIS AT THE ‘ATHINAIA’: It was a lovely evening at the Athinaia club on Friday evening. The club has been decorated by the famous painter Minos Argyrakis. Entertainment was provided by E. Spatharis’s Karaghiozis group and songs by Anthi Zacharatou and the Tsitsanis band.
