An official mosque

The decision to build an official mosque in Votanikos, near central Athens, is the right one and the project must be supported by as many political parties as possible.

Greece has an obligation to construct the mosque in Athens, and, in doing so, besides everything else, it will be safeguarding its own interests.

There is no doubt that it is preferable for Athens to have a recognized place of worship for Muslims, as opposed to dozens of makeshift mosques in basements across the Greek capital where extremist elements could be operating without any kind of control.

This time round, the construction of an official mosque in Athens must be completed.
