CAVENDISH CANNON: Paris, 5 (From our correspondent S. Theodorou) – The US ambassador in Athens, Cavendish Cannon, has just arrived here from Germany by special invitation from the leader of the Atlantic forces, General Guenther. The latter wished to meet with Mr Cannon before he leaves for the USA, where it is certain that he will be discussing the Greek military-economic problem with the US authorities, based on recommendations made in a memorandum from Greek Prime Minister Field Marshal Alexandros Papagos. BY NAVY BOAT TO THE SNOWFIELDS: The king, queen and heir to the throne boarded the navy boat Navarino yesterday evening to sail to Thessaloniki, from where they will go to Naoussa and Vermion to watch the ski races. TSAROUCHIS: A crowd of people attended the recent annual ball of the «Greek Welfare» association. Thanks to Mr Yiannis Tsarouchis, the students of the cinema school and the decorator Mr Francis Carabott, the lovely halls of the Hotel Grande Bretagne were decorated in the Venetian style, which contributed to the great success of the ball.
