Homegrown terrorism

Greece continues to have a homegrown terrorism problem. There are many different reasons why the country has been unable to quash these guerrilla movements within its borders, even though it has been 42 years since the phenomenon first emerged in the wake of the military dictatorship – that is, at a time of democracy.

The recent bomb attack on the home of a leading judicial official, in combination with the threats posted by the perpetrators, is ample proof of the failure to crack down on the phenomenon.

However, the worst part of it all is that society still seems to tolerate such acts.
