The sadism of the unions

Hundreds of thousands of citizens are being inconvenienced by the frequent strike action disrupting Athens metro services with no end in sight to the stoppages.

A small group of privileged employees is wreaking havoc with the commutes of workers in the broader area of the Greek capital, and seem to be doing so with sadistic fervor.

The only goal of this group of people appears to be the promotion of their own demands, the logic of which appears to be rather questionable, to say the least.

What is worse, the unionists representing these workers are inconsistent in their demands.

On the one hand, they claim to speak for the Greek public and express solidarity with harangued and long-suffering commuters; on the other hand, they conceal their real intentions behind totally abstract and – let’s be frank – completely incomprehensible demands.

This is a type of behavior that can only be described as shameful and reprehensible, and it cannot be allowed to continue.
