GREECE, TURKEY AND THE AMERICANS: (From an editorial in Kathimerini titled «The Americans Here») «Having totally ignored the advice and recommendations of the American mission Turkey has sent away the representatives of the World Bank, to which it happens to be indebted, having only recently taken out a loan. So what do the Americans want from Greece and for Greece? The question requires an answer, for the economic tutelage of the Americans here is a spoke in our wheel.» LIBERAL PARTY CONGRESS: The Liberal Party congress began yesterday (June 24) at the Kentrikon Theater. Sophocles Venizelos appealed for support for the new leader of the party, Mr George Papandreou. GEORGE PAPANDREOU: The sessions of the Liberal Party concluded on Sunday (June 27). Party leader Mr George Papandreou made a speech summing up the party’s platform, saying that the Liberal Party was a national and democratic party aimed at restoring political freedom and social justice. PATISSIA: Following the sealing of the end of Patission Avenue, the extension of the trolley bus line from Koliatsou Square to the end of Patission has begun.
