Borders and values
Ankara’s recent attempts to give Athens lessons in morality were just farcical.
Turkey’s continued insistence on stirring tension at the border between the two countries while Greece is struggling with an unprecedented health crisis, though, is evidence of which of the two sides is acting in an inhumane and cynical manner.
In similar circumstances, when Turkey was hit by a devastating earthquake for example, Greece demonstrated its commitment to its humanitarian principles.
However, it appears from the most recent developments that such values don’t exist east of the Evros River.
