GEORGIOS P. RALLIS: The minister to the prime minister, Georgios P. Rallis, returned yesterday from Trikala, Corinthia, where he had gone Saturday to brief the prime minister, Field Marshal Alexandros Papagos, who is holidaying there, on various government issues, to propose measures and receive instructions. The prime minister expressed his satisfaction with the spontaneous rallies of last Friday in which the entire nation expressed its desire for the union of Cyprus with Greece. WARNING FROM TURKEY: London, 23 – The Nicosia correspondent of the Sunday Times reports that the Turkish mufti of Cyprus has stated in an interview that the Turkish government has assured him it would resist Greek claims on Cyprus, even to the point of risking war. PRECURSOR OF EOKA MOVEMENT: Washington, 23 – Yesterday’s American press has given broad coverage to the text of a secret Cypriot newspaper referring to the establishment of a secret organization under the name «National Salvation» aimed at opening the way for «dynamic» action against the British regime in Cyprus.
