The sound of the national applause that echoed through the streets in the springtime has faded in this cruel fall with a massive surge in coronavirus cases.
Doctors and nurses are now fighting the toughest battle amid silence, almost invisible. But, even so, their example of self-sacrifice continues to set the standard for social responsibility.
Their service will not be forgotten.
