Dialogue and deterrence
Monday was marked by the start of exploratory talks between Greece and Turkey and the finalization of the agreement with France for the purchase of 18 Rafales.
Greece is showing that it can discuss whatever can be discussed and at the same time arm itself in case it is again challenged to respond in the field.
There is no dilemma between diplomacy and defense. Greece’s national interest requires both.
