PANAYIOTIS KANELLOPOULOS: Defense Minister and acting Foreign Minister Mr Panayiotis Kanellopoulos made the following announcement last night: «A morning newspaper in New York carries a report of disagreements or reservations on the part of certain ministers regarding the Cyprus issue and the way it is being handled. I would like to take the opportunity given me by this article, as well as the completely justified challenge from an afternoon newspaper, to emphasize categorically that the rumors circulating in New York are absolutely inaccurate. I fully support the historic initiative that Prime Minister Field Marshal Alexandros Papagos has taken, as do all members of the government. In fact, the entire nation fervently supports this policy.
