PAPALIGOURAS AGAINST MARKEZINIS: Yesterday’s parliamentary debate was extremely interesting on the issue of the Markezinis letters. Coordination Minister Mr Panayiotis Papaligouras presented documents and testimony relating the history of the issue. Mr Papaligouras referred to two matters in particular, one of which was the concealment of letters between the former minister, Mr Spyros Markezinis, and German Economy Minister Ludwig Erhardt. During his speech, which went on for two-and-a-half hours, since it was frequently interrupted by Messrs. Markezinis, Kapsalis and Papayiannis among others, Mr Papaligouras presented evidence that none of the state authorities nor anyone else in Greece possessed the original letter from Mr Erhardt to Mr Markezinis. He underlined that he was not making accusations but simply presenting Parliament with the facts from which its members could draw their own conclusions.
