KANELLOPOULOS-STEPHANOPOULOS: New ministers and deputy ministers were sworn in yesterday afternoon before King Pavlos and Prime Minister Field Marshal Alexandros Papagos. Also sworn in were former ministers assuming new portfolios. (Ed. note: Constantine Karamanlis strengthened his position by assuming the Transport Ministry in addition to the Public Works Ministry.) Decrees were also issued regarding the nomination of Defense Minister Panayiotis Kanellopoulos and Foreign Minister Stephanos Stephanopoulos as deputy prime ministers. STEPHANOS STEPHANOPOULOS: Paris, 16 (From our correspondent S. Theodorou): The solution adopted by the UN Political Committee on the Cyprus issue is seen by Greece as «the only possible solution under the current international conditions.» This was the view expressed by Greek Foreign Minister Mr Stephanopoulos when asked for his opinion of New Zealand’s proposal. He said the UN decision marked a milestone in the development of the Cyprus question as it has now been raised at an international level. That is, it is no longer a domestic issue but under the jurisdiction of the UN, as Great Britain has recognized.
