CYPRUS ISSUE: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr Stephanos Stephanopoulos has denied the report that Greece had agreed to take part unconditionally in a tripartite (Greece, Great Britain, Turkey) conference in London. He confirmed that Greece would raise the issue of the Cypriot people’s self-determination during the conference and said that the government would soon decide when it would lodge a Greek demarche with the UN on the Cyprus issue. PAPAGOS’S ILLNESS: Minister for Northern Greece General Cosmas was received at noon yesterday by the prime minister, Field Marshal Alexandros Papagos. (Ed. note: The reference «Papagos’s illness» refers to the fact that the prime minister received Gen. Cosmas at his home in Ekali). KARAMANLIS ON THE MOVE: Minister for Transport and Public Works Mr Constantine Karamanlis and Deputy Minister Mr Constantine Papaconstantinou leave this evening for the island of Crete where they will concern themselves with various issues under their jurisdiction. They will visit Aghios Nikolaos, Iraklion, Rethymnon and Hania.
