WARNING FROM TURKEY: Istanbul, 25 – The Turkish Prime Minister, Mr Adnan Menderes, while addressing the press yesterday, made reference to rumors that «Greek terrorists are planning attacks against Turks on the island of Cyprus on August 28.» Expressing his concern, Mr Menderes said: «We are convinced that the British administration (in Cyprus) will do its duty to the full. Nevertheless, it is being rumored that the recent upheaval among the Greek population on Cyprus, as a result of years of incitement, has now reached a peak. Therefore, any sudden action, or any criminal initiative, is likely to have consequences which will be impossible to avert or to rectify.» TRIPARTITE CONFERENCE ON CYPRUS: At 11.15 a.m. today a Greek government delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr Stefanos Stefanopoulos, left by air for London. They are to take part in a tripartite conference (between Greece, Britain and Turkey) to discuss «political and defense issues in the eastern Mediterranean, including the Cyprus issue.»
