KARAMANLIS GOVERNMENT: The new government led by Constantine Karamanlis was sworn in at 1.15 p.m. yesterday. In accordance with the wishes of King Paul that the country acquire a government as quickly as possible, the new prime minister, who received his mandate the night before last, took five hours yesterday morning to draft a Cabinet list, which he submitted to the king in the afternoon. The swearing-in ceremony was held in the presence of former Deputy Prime Minister Mr Panayiotis Kanellopoulos, and was presided over by Bishop Alexios. Parliament is to meet on Monday (October 10), when Mr Karamanlis will announce the government’s platform and ask for a vote of confidence from the House. The new ministers include Prime Minister and National Defense Minister Constantine Karamanlis, Minister to the Prime Minister Georgios Rallis, Foreign Minister Spyridon Theotokis, Finance and provisionally Coordination Minister Andreas Apostolidis, Justice Minister Constantine Adamopoulos, Interior Minister Ioannis Triantafyllis, and National Education and Religion Minister Achilleas Gerokostopoulos.
