TOWARD ELECTIONS: King Paul of the Hellenes yesterday approved a recommendation from Prime Minister Constantine Karamanlis to dissolve Parliament today and proclaim parliamentary elections to take place on February 19. The elections will be held by the current government. This morning the prime minister will go to the palace for the signing of the order to dissolve Parliament. POPULAR FRONT: Led by the leader of the Liberals, Mr George Papandreou, a movement has been initiated to expand the «Democratic Center» to provide for the inclusion of all political parties and groups from the extreme right to the extreme left, including the communist United Democratic Left (EDA). UNDER KARAMANLIS: It has been announced that prominent members of the Liberals, such as Evangelos Averoff, Grigoris Kassimatis and Constantine Tsatos, are to join Constantine Karamanlis’s new party, the National Radical Union (ERE). CYPRUS STRUGGLE: Nicosia, 9 – Cypriot patriots injured the assistant deputy director of Nicosia prison and staged a bomb attack on a British military canteen.
