GEORGE PAPANDREOU: The leaders of the «New EAM» initiated a report yesterday that the government supporters were about to organize various events allegedly showing the active involvement of communists in the election campaign and illegal activity on their part. They were also planning to hold demonstrations during campaign rallies with slogans opposing the «Democratic Center’s» platform, which the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) has adopted unreservedly. Speaking on behalf of «New EAM,» Mr George Papandreou said that he would organize groups which, during the rallies, would apprehend anyone spouting these slogans and turn them over to the police to ascertain their identities. SOLON GIKAS: Thessaloniki, 27 – Army Chief of Staff Lt General Solon Gikas has arrived here to chair a meeting of the commanders of the 2nd and 3rd armies and their divisional commanders to whom he has issued orders regarding the smooth operation of the elections. GREEKS FROM KOREA: The last 14 Greek officers and 189 men serving in Korea have been repatriated to Greece via New York.
