MARCH 18-19, 1952

COMPARISONS: In (…) monarcho-fascist America, the lawyers of 11 communist leaders are to go on trial for plotting to overthrow their country’s government. Even the lawyers! For in America it is considered a crime against the security of the state to defend spies…. In Greece, we just publish interviews with those sentenced to death, something for which the Greek judiciary is vilified. CZECHOSLOVAKIA: According to reports from Vienna, many prominent figures in Czechoslovakia have fallen into disfavor. Already 20 members of the Czechoslovak Communist Party’s Central Committee have been arrested, along with seven members of the Slovak government and six generals. PANEL OF JUDGES: By decision of the Education Minister, Mr Michail, the following have been appointed to the panel of judges for the 4th Panhellenic Art Exhibition organized by the Education Ministry at the Zappeion Hall: C. Pangalos (chairman), Oumbertos Argyros, Nikos Hatzikyriakos-Ghikas, Yiannis Mitarakis, Lazaros Lameras, Yiannis Bouzianis, Yiannis Tsouchlos, Fokion Dimitriadis, Angelos Theodoropoulos and Falireas.
