Garbage-free Kaisariani
Regarding the commentary «Hymettus hegemony,» on March 20: In this piece there is a suggestion that the mayors of three areas, Ilioupolis, Vyronas and Kaisariani, might declare these «garbage-free zones.» I should like to suggest that in Kaisariani this has been done. We drive through here on the way up to Hymettus. We regularly comment on the cleanliness of the area. We constantly see street cleaners at work, systematically sweeping and tidying. We have seen central reservations dug and weeded and we see no litter on the streets. This area had no refuse collectors’ strike. As to other things, I cannot comment, but on the hard work and effectiveness of the street cleaners in Kaisariani I can.
