OPINION

Alexandria library

Concerning the article titled «Hoping for peace in the Middle East,» on Page 7 of the Saturday-Sunday, April 6, edition, I regret to inform you that the writer of the column groundlessly mentioned that «the opening of Alexandria Library on April 23 seems to be postponed.» We regret to inform you that this sentence has caused confusion and perplexity. We cannot find basis from which your writer could have derived this sentence, because no official in Cairo nor at the Egyptian Embassy in Athens has made any remarks. I would like you – please – to take whatever necessary steps you deem appropriate in this regard to correct this erroneous information. Editor replies: The comment was an evaluation by our journalist, not a reflection of what Egyptian authorities have said.
