More proposals, much less noise
The last thing the country needs at the present time is an extended pre-election period marked by lavish government handouts and cost-free promises from the opposition. Regrettably, all the chronic problems that have dogged the country over previous decades, including the social security issue and economic shortcomings, are still facing us. The government that will emerge from the coming polls will be called on to tackle the massive problems that have for years been swept under the carpet. The campaign candidates are expected to give concrete answers to these problems, but Greek politics has been reduced to an exchange of barbs and accusations. However, citizens are fed up with claims that «our opponents are worse.» Now, they must be convinced of who is best. And that presupposes clear proposals, not noisy rhetoric.
