ASIAN FLU: The numbers of Asian flu cases are continuing to rise. The head of the Greek Medical Association estimated yesterday that about 30 percent of the country’s population had already contracted the disease. Given that another 30 percent will have immunity, and if the epidemic continues at its current rate, we should expect that within a short period of time it will have spread to almost the entire population. The disease is reaching pandemic proportions. According to the World Health Organization, it is slowly spreading to North America and Europe, and spreading faster to Central and South America and West Africa. It has even appeared in Brazil and El Salvador, while it now appears to be moving out of Asia, Egypt, eastern and southern Africa. CYPRUS ISSUE AT THE UN: New York – The battle to have the Cyprus issue included on the agenda of the United Nations General Assembly has ended in a true victory for the Greek delegation. By 11 votes and four abstentions, the assembly’s Political Committee approved Greece’s representation titled the «Question of Cyprus.»
