THURSDAY Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis to address an event in honor of Leonidas Kyrkos at 6.30 p.m. at the Pallas theater. Strike action by public transport employees is scheduled for today in protest at the dismissal of two Athens Tram workers. Tram drivers will stage a four-hour work stoppage, from 8 a.m. to noon. Blue buses will not be operating from the begining of their shift until 7 a.m. and from 10 p.m. until the end of the shift. Metro and Athens-Piraeus electric railway (ISAP) drivers will strike from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m and from 9 p.m. to the end of their shift. The national federation of state hospital employees (POEDHN) stage a work stoppage from 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. over financial demands. The Agriculture Ministry is hosting a conference on «Other Agriculture and Young Farmers,» starting at 9.30 a.m. at the Secretariat General of Communication, 11 Fragoudi.
