Strike action by public transport employees is scheduled for today in protest at the dismissal of two Athens Tram workers. Tram drivers will stage a four-hour work stoppage, from 8 a.m. to noon. Blue buses will not be operating from the begining of their shift until 7 a.m. and from 10 p.m. until the end of the shift. Metro and Athens-Piraeus electric railway (ISAP) drivers will strike from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m and from 9 p.m. to the end of their shift. The national federation of state hospital employees (POEDHN) stage a work stoppage from 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. over financial demands.
