A wake-up call for the police force

We may be disgusted and frightened, but we shouldn’t be surprised at the triple homicide that took place near the Aghios Panteleimonas police station. Nearly everyone feels that there is not enough policing in the country, be it for small infringements or organized gang wars. It is only natural that we should be witnessing such crimes when police officers are stuck behind desks at their local stations doing paperwork and other menial tasks. The case of the triple mob hit must be solved and solved soon. The residents of the capital must be reassured that their city is not turning into a Prohibition-era Chicago. In addition, the government must step up its efforts to reorganize the police force. Crime is not only rising, it is changing, becoming more heinous, and the Greek state must respond to this change, in a clever and organized manner. We know this is possible.
