SUMMER HOLIDAYS: Weekends have generally become established as the only opportunity for excursions for those who have not yet been able to leave the city. Many hotels around the country are already full of tourists and have little room left for weekend visitors. Xylokastro, Trikala Corinthia, Nafplion and Delphi are just some of the popular destinations that are already all fully booked. Those who have decided to go to one of the islands are having the same problem. Yachts and other vessels are taking large numbers of holidaymakers to our lovely islands and their beaches for several days or just a weekend. In July and August, when the heat and the daily routine have already taken their toll, groups of friends take off for a couple of days to rest and recover away from the furnace that is Athens, in the cool breeze of a distant beach. XENIA KALOGEROPOULOU: Two young actors have appeared with the Mimis Fotopoulos Theater Company, which is to be housed in a new theater on Patission Street next season. They are Xenia Kalogeropoulou, who has studied drama in Paris, and Poppy Dasopoulou, who has come from a theater in Thessaloniki.
