MERTEN CASE: During yesterday’s parliamentary session, Interior Minister Dimitris Makris spoke about comments made during the debate of a bill envisaging the suspension of prosecution of war criminals. He said that accused war criminal Max Merten, who had served in the German occupation forces during World War II, had recently come to Greece as his guest and that his wife had been asked to testify in the case. He said this disgraceful action showed that when one side (Ed. Note: the Left) imposes judicial rulings for reasons of demagogy that is harmful to Greece’s interests, no Greek should dare present himself before a Greek magistrate or willingly offer themselves as a witness in a court case. HADJIDAKIS: Manos Hadjidakis is to take part in performances by the Elliniko Horodrama that are scheduled to begin on February 16 at the Kentrikon Theater. He has composed a new work entitled «Rhythmologia» which will be interpreted by dancer Giorgos Emirzas. Hadjidakis is to choreograph the work himself in cooperation with dancer Rania Papadas, who will be interpreting one of the main female roles.
