CYPRUS ISSUE: Acting Prime Minister Sophocles Venizelos is to try to meet with the leader of the Greek Rally party Field Marshal Alexandros Papagos to discuss the Cyprus question. At the same time, Cypriot Archbishop Makarios is to meet within the next few days with Messrs Markezinis and Stephanopoulos, the leaders of the other parties and government ministers to ask them to work toward a solution to the problem. PEACE ACCORD: The Justice Ministry has drawn up a bill abolishing Resolution M «on expropriating the property of those who participated in the outlaw movement,» Resolution N (…), Resolution NA (…) and Law 617.1948 «on depriving those who took part in the outlaw movement of any assistance whatsoever.» Communists who fled abroad are excluded from the measures to return property and other benefits. COMMUNIST PARTY: The bandits’ radio station yesterday broadcast statements by the political bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), in which it first reiterated its familiar slogans of a «pan-democratic front» (…) and welcomed the «democratic mobilization within democratic institutions and above all within the EPEK party (of Nikolaos Plastiras).» THESSALONIKI: The Kalouda sisters and N. Stavridis have brought their theater company to the Metropole theater in Thessaloniki with the revue «Star Hellas.»
