SOUTHEAST ASIA: United Nations, August 5 – The government of Laos has officially accused the People’s Republic of Vietnam of inciting conflict in northern Laos by sending manpower and supplies to the guerrilla groups that have resumed hostilities since July 16 along the border with Vietnam. HOLIDAYS ON MYCONOS: A lot of people have arrived on the island of Myconos, some staying at the lovely Leto Hotel as well as island homes and the beach cabanas at Aghios Stefanos, not to mention those stopping by in yachts. LEONARD BERNSTEIN: Yesterday’s premiere by the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Leonard Bernstein, at the Herod Atticus Theater, was a great success. Bernstein, a conductor, pianist, composer and speaker, replaced Dimitris Mitropoulos in 1958 as director of the orchestra. He has composed a number of works, including the ballet «Fancy Free,» the «Jeremiah» symphony and musicals such as the famous «West Side Story.» EAST AND WEST: Geneva – A final communique was issued today after the foreign ministers’ (of the US, USSR, Britain and France) conference here. After today’s final session, the Western powers accused Russia of being responsible for the failure to reach agreement on Berlin and of seeking to annex West Berlin.
