CHURCH AGAINST CASINO: The interior minister, Mr Rendis, has announced that Archbishop Spyridon of Athens has written to express his opposition to the establishment of a casino, currently under consideration, which he said would blunt religious sentiments. EDA PROTESTS: The United Democratic Left (EDA) has announced that a delegation consisting of Mr Ioannis Pasalidis and parliamentary deputy Antonis Brillakis have met with the interior minister to protest that since the appointment of Major Marangas as chief of the military camp on Aghios Efstratios, there has been an increase in insults, threats and restrictions against inmates (political exiles) and that their infirmary has been closed. Mr Rendis assured the delegation that he would make strong recommendations to the camp chief.
